7 Ways Live Calligraphy Elevates Your Corporate Event

“Honestly, I do not need another tote bag…”
“A koozie? I’m just gonna throw it away.”
I've worked a dozen trade shows, and I'm telling you these quotes certainly didn't come from my live engraving booth. It came from all of the tables around me, giving out generic swag that will never ever be used. In fact, the same old swag doesn't just make your table forgettable; it will actually work against your brand.
And with all the work that your brand does, it should be top of mind in the best light possible. Let's review seven different ways that working with a live event artist will level up your brand and make your booth the one to be remembered.
It gives guests a personalized takeaway that they want to keep. The difference between a branded tote and a hand-engraved bottle with their name on it? One ends up in the trash, the other one will sit on the desk for years.
It creates a natural gathering point at your event. Live art will organically draw a crowd. Instead of guests feeling awkward not knowing who to talk to or how to enter a group, you create an activation that guests will gravitate towards. These groups will then have a natural conversation starter so they can network without it feeling like networking.
Organic social content, baby. A QR code with the subtitle “tag us” doesn’t give guests a reason to share… but a hand-foiled luggage tag? That is what your guests will WANT to share. You get UGC from an event that will circulate long after the night is over.
It reflects your brand’s commitment to quality and craft. The clients who book me on a regular basis make something very clear: they want it done by hand. When you book a live calligrapher, you are sharing your brand values with your guests. You are telling them that you care about the details.
It works for almost any corporate event format: product launches, client appreciation dinners, holiday parties, influencer previews, even conference activations! For large events like trade shows, any booth that I have worked on has always been a standout, with lines wrapping around the table. You can even offer live calligraphy for small VIP dinners or events. I regularly get to work on the second floor at Saks Fifth Avenue, where they have VIPs come in and get complimentary engraving with their fragrances.
It’s memorable. Guests may forget your keynote speaker, the slides all blurring together by the end of the day. But they are not going to forget watching their name get engraved on a bottle in real time. And they will have a constant reminder of that moment every single time they reach for it.
It’s easier to book than most people think! You may think that all artists are aloof, but your girl, Arielle Basha, knows structure. Working with me is easy. I need at least two weeks' notice, a table and a chair, and a vision! Within just two exchanges with me, we can take you from inquiry to confirmed booking.
Corporate events do not need to feel stiff and boring. Stop following the same formula and do something new, different, and memorable. You are just one step away from creating an event that will elevate your brand and create lasting moments.
